How it works at the counter
A sticker by your register, the phone your customer already carries, and a reward your staff hand over in person. Here is the whole of TapMat, start to finish.
Getting started
Three steps, and most of the first one is done by us.
We set up your shop
TapMat creates your business and sends your sticker, already written and tested.
You choose the rewards
Log in to the owner app and add a reward: a name such as "Free coffee" and the visits it takes, such as 10.
Stick it by the register
Put the sticker where customers pay. They can start tapping straight away.
What your customer sees
First visit
The customer taps their phone on the sticker. Their phone opens your shop page: added to their pass, 1 visit on their card, and the rewards on offer with a progress bar. No sign-up and no password.
Coming back
Each later tap adds one visit and moves every reward forward. One more visit to go? The page says so: "1 more visit and it's yours".
Ready to redeem
When a reward is ready, the page says "Ready to redeem - show this at the counter".
Handing it over
The customer shows their screen or reads out their member number. Your cashier looks them up, presses Redeem and hands the reward over. The card starts again, and any extra visits carry over.

For the moments that are not a normal tap
Real counters are busy. These are switched on per shop, so you use only what your shop needs.
- Phones that cannot read the sticker
- Staff can show a backup check-in QR code from the owner app.
- A new phone
- The cashier confirms who the customer is and shows a one-time QR code. The new phone scans it and the visits carry straight over.
- Delivery and phone orders
- Shops that deliver can put a single-use claim card in the bag. Scanning it counts the order as a visit.
- Time-limited offers
- Set an end date or a window such as "complete within 30 days". Customers always see it on their pass.
A copied link cannot add visits
Every tap is checked against the sticker's own counter or cryptography, so a photo of the sticker or a shared link does not count. Only one visit per hour counts for each customer.
